I create each piece of Moonwater Designs jewelry by hand in my studio in Denver, Colorado. My jewelry is made using colorful pieces of stained glass, found objects, and vintage paper fragments.
I love finding beauty in unexpected places, and enjoy visiting flea markets and thrift stores in search of rustic treasures to incorporate into jewelry designs. I have a fascination with the old and worn, things that have a back story, things that hold a certain air of mystery or intrigue in that you'll never know where they've been. Treasures such as old dictionaries with amazing illustrations, sheet music, French textbooks with old cursive handwriting written in the margins, and old keys and bits of metal often work their way into my jewelry designs. The more rusty and worn, the better.
I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and hold a B.A. in Mass Communication, Visual Communication emphasis from the University of South Dakota. Moonwater Designs was established in 2001.
